Project Development Process
KTYC’s project development process consists of five phases: Planning; Preliminary Engineering & Environmental Evaluation; Design; Right-of-Way & Utility Coordination; and Construction.
The Improving Turkeyfoot Road project is currently focused on the Preliminary Engineering & Environmental Documentation stage of this process.
As part of the current stage of development, our project team will:
-
Further assess improvement recommendations made during the Planning phase for Turkeyfoot Road between Dudley Road and I-275
-
Develop new improvement alternatives for Turkeyfoot Road between I-275 and Dixie Highway
-
Gather additional data needed to prepare engineering designs
Once these tasks are complete, the project will move into the Design phase, the end result of which will be a set of comprehensive plans and detailed project cost estimates.
Public input is a very important part of the project development process. The public plays a critical role in providing feedback at key phases of development that helps inform decision-making from planning through construction. Visit our Public Input page to learn more about how you can participate in the process.
