Making Travel Easier and Safer
Located in the heart of Northern Kentucky, Turkeyfoot Road (KY 1303) is an important link in our growing region’s transportation system. In the area near I-275, Turkeyfoot is heavily traveled and supports more than 40,000 vehicles per day. Here, drivers frequently experience congestion and travel delays caused by the increasing number of vehicles on the road, short distances between traffic signals and lines of cars trying to turn left. Unfortunately, it’s also not uncommon to be slowed down by crashes caused by vehicles making quick lane changes and backed up traffic.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has studied these problems and is currently developing plans to reduce congestion and improve travel safety on Turkeyfoot Road, between Dudley Road and Dixie Highway. Proposed improvements include reconfiguring intersections and access patterns, adding and extending turn lanes, connecting disjointed sidewalks for pedestrians and adding paths for bicyclists.
At the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC), it’s our job to make sure Northern Kentucky’s infrastructure meets the needs of our growing population and the many companies located here.

Every project we do is about improving safety, supporting job creation and providing better access to those who travel through our area.
The timing of construction, however, depends on when we receive construction funding.
